A newspaper page is made to be scanned as a whole: headlines, photographs, and columns share the same space. When a particular story catches your eye, open it from the page to read its mapped text in a cleaner view.
Keep the page in view
Start at the front page, then use the page controls or thumbnails to find the story you want. Zoom helps when a column is difficult to read on a smaller screen, and full-screen view gives the page more room. You can still return to the edition’s layout when you want to see where the article sits.
Open the mapped text
Select an article area on the page to open its readable text. This view separates the story from the surrounding columns, which can make longer passages easier to follow without losing the connection to the original page. Adjust the text size if the default view does not suit your screen.
Read, listen, or return
If you would rather listen, start the audio reader from the article view. Sharing, printing, and download controls are also available there, so you do not need to hunt across the page for them. When you are done, close the article and continue from the same edition.
